From the Pastor’s Desk: June 18, 2023

This month of June we are celebrating the Sacred Heart of Jesus as a reminder for all of us of the love of God and the need for each of us to be united in His love for the world. Every year the Church celebrates the Sacred Heart of Jesus the third Friday after Pentecost, which was this past Friday. Here at St. Jude, we began the day at Mass and at 3:00pm we held Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, singing Hymns, praying the Divine Mercy Chaplet, an Act of Consecration to the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, and a Litany to our Lord. May each and every day be a reminder of God’s love for everyone and how He calls us to be transformed in the likeness of Christ our Savior so as to be in communion with Him. God is Love!

Today we are expressing our gratitude and love to our dedicated employees of many years to our Faith Formation/Religious Education department: Mrs. Eileen Will and Mrs. Laura Guisto. I want to personally thank them for their hard work and many enduring hours of teaching the Catholic faith and Jesus to our young boys and girls. It was their love for the Church that they ministered with such care and love to them. Their enthusiasm and zeal was what made our Faith Formation so enriching and vibrant. This morning I invite all to the Parish Center to express your love and thankfulness to Eileen and Laura. And thanks to our Rosary Altar Society for providing the food for this special moment. Thank you, Eileen and Laura, for all you have done for our children and their families throughout the years!

It was wonderful to have Mr. Mike LaSalle here last Sunday to play the organ for us once again at our Masses. I told him he is always welcome here. We miss him and Gae, who has gone to her rest in the peace and love of God’s Kingdom.

I want to wish all the dads a blessed and happy Father’s Day. How significant and important our parents role is in the world today. Moms and Dads are the best teachers to their children in the ways of faith and life. The love a parent has for their child is best expressed by being the best example in kindness, compassion, caring, and love. But also, by being the disciplinarian who corrects the wrong and addresses the right. The fourth commandment is for the child to honor your Mom and Dad, and love them by listening and learning from them. Happy Father’s Day! Another example of what the Sacred Heart of Jesus signifies is being united with one another as to finally be in union with God and all the Holy Ones, angels and saints, in the His kingdom for all eternity.

St. Jude, pray for us ~

Blessings,
Fr. Ryan
