From the Pastor’s Desk: August 27th, 2023

For the past six years our receptionist, Linda Geoghan, has been the one who first welcomes our visitors here at the St. Jude Office. She has been the one who greets you with a warm smile and helps you with what you need, whether it be with baptisms, Mass intentions, funeral arrangements, and/or some advice on whatever your situation may be. She has been a tremendous help to me and has helped create an atmosphere of joy, laughter, and love in our Office. And so it is with sadness that she will be moving on this week to her next endeavor.

Linda has been offered an employment position at Immaculate Conception Church in Westhampton. The offer was too good to pass up. She will definitely be missed not only by me and our staff, but to all. Linda has been a big part of the St. Jude parish family for over thirty years. It was her and her beloved husband, Deacon Ken Geoghan, who helped build our parish community by serving you in many different ministries throughout the years. They were leaders in our St. Vincent de Paul Society, Pre-Cana, Baptism, and volunteered and led many parish special events. Linda was part of the choir for many years and a regular Lector at the Sunday Masses before moving out to Hauppauge in 2022. She was also the coordinator and leader of the Bereavement Ministry and enjoyed helping with the Ministry of Consolation.

I’m going to miss all the fun and those memorable moments of laughter and joy we had these past six years. Yes, we are going to miss you dearly Linda, but do know we all wish you the best at your new parish and I know you are going to give the people of Immaculate Conception Church the love and joy that you have given to us. I believe God needs you there. Do know that if you need me for anything I am always there for you as you have been there for me and St. Jude Church!

Thank you, Linda, and know our hearts are with you in your new adventure! We love you and are going to miss you dearly. And yes, don’t be a stranger for we will always be your family! God bless you! For the parishioners at Immaculate Conception Church: you are blessed indeed, for you are about to receive a truly wonderful person who will give you so much joy and love while living your faith in Jesus Christ!

Blessings & Joy,

Fr. Ryan
