Last week we had our Annual St. Jude Summer BBQ and again it was such a wonderful day for all! It was great to see so many of you there enjoying being together. A big part of the church is such events as this, bringing us together as a community and celebrating life. Seeing so many young families with their children enjoying the food and activities was truly a joy. Watching the kids go down the water slide, bouncing up and down in the Bouncy House, riding the ponies, and making sand art while listening to the music and enjoying an ice cream pop I’m sure brought smiles to all.
I want to thank all of you who made it possible! It is not an easy undertaking arranging all the activities, the DJ, buying the food and beverages, getting the chairs, tables, and the tents takes some planning and legwork. Things just don’t happen on there own: ya gotta make it happen. And there are so many of you who did that I want to thank each of you!
Maureen Stump, leader of our Family Ministry, and all of its members who continuously make St. Jude Church an eventful place to be throughout the year! You all deserve heartfelt gratitude from all of us for all you do throughout the year in providing our big and small events! Thank you!!!
I want to thank our two Knights of Columbus Councils: St. Jude Shrine and JV Kavanaugh, for providing the grill, soda, water, and cooking the hamburgers and hot dogs under the hot sun. We are blessed to have our two Knights of Columbus Councils here at St. Jude for all they do for us throughout the year. You guys are always there to help us and we greatly appreciate it! Thank you!!!
I want to thank Mr. Kane and his family for providing one of the tents for us. Mr. Kane is always there for us during the year whenever we need a tent, chairs, or tables and we are truly grateful. Thank Mr. Kane!!! For all the volunteers who came by to assist us and all the donations I want to thank you!
And thank you, the parishioners of St. Jude Church, who continue to make our parish a loving, charitable, and faithful community!!! We live the Eucharistic life in Christ in so many ways! Your generosity and concern for one another is truly recognized and appreciated. Let us continue to build up God’s Kingdom here at St. Jude Church with joy, zeal, and enthusiasm! God bless you!!!
